back to school.

i started my photography class tonight

at wichita center of the arts.

very excited about it.

here's a couple of my shots from class.

i had my aperture set at 1.8,

so that's why there's a very little area focused.

we will shoot at the keeper of the plains next week.

she's one of my great and wonderful friends.

we met last fall.

i say "met" but we didn't actually meet in person til

yesterday.

she lives a state away.

we actually "met" on etsy.

i bought something from her store.

now she's friends with my friend jen

and both jen and myself are friends with

her buddy, gwen.

jen and i were very excited to get to hang out

with leslie and her family this weekend.

all photo creativeness for these tattoo shots needs to be given to jackie cooper.

she did my friend tari's shots this month in front of the building and leslie loved it.

she asked to take some there, as well. :)

last night i had my first shot at using the

new rebel for the 'sleeping at last' concert 

at downtown's murdock theatre(broadway and murdock, behind 'The Lord's Diner'). 

gorgeous building. 

wish i'd taken shots of it!

(um, so justin's day job made him a little leary

of sending me out in that area by myself,

so he dropped me off. haha. )

thankfully, i did a little reading on the ins and outs

of concert photography.

saved me.

i expected some grain,

since i don't have the high tech equipment yet,

so i did get some of that.

definitely not as bad as it could

have been.

great group to practice on.

not only do i LOVE listening to them

(i do all my photo editing to their music..it calms me

and helps me think!!),

but all the guys were relatively still. :)

i think there were like 7 people older than me

at the show.

mostly college age kids.

made me miss manhattan.

he's playing at mead's corner on the 7th.

i'm a big sucker for live music and this show did not disappoint. 

i loved the intimate setting.

very calming.

 it was an all-around great performance

(though i didn't get to hear my fave song 'clockwork'. 

glad i yelled out at jeremy to play 'today'...

even if he wasn't ready to play it solely on guitar!

my bad, jeremy.).

my husband and i have talked about going to see michael buble in june, so if we get tickets, i think i will rent a faster lens.  one that can handle the lack of lighting.

my smallest guinea pig of the year.

she's 3 months old(in a few days) and so sweet.

i wanted to hold her all day.

mine weigh 34 and 35 lbs.

she was SOOO light. :)

justin came along today with the kids,

so the oldest had someone to play with.

this is what happens when you let your kid

play with mine.

she and my son were digging in the dirt.
